Due to its secluded and elevated positioning, the current location of the NIZUC Resort & Spa has been used for observational and recreational purposes for quite some time now. It was initially a favorite spot for Mayan astronomers, and in more recent years, it served as a retreat for important people visiting the Yucatan Peninsula.
