164-Long Aquarium Makes a Perfect Fence in Turkey

Because regular fences are too mainstream, Turkish topographical engineerMehmet Ali Gökçeoğlu decided he would go for a giant fish tank instead. Yes, his luxurious residence is literally surrounded by thousands of fish and other examples of marine life, all beautifully displayed in a very long fish tank (164 feet). The house is located near the beautiful Aegean Sea, in Çeşme, Izmir, which was a big advantage for the bold project.

Mehmet Ali Gökçeoğlu spent some 40,000 Turkish Lira (around $21,000) on the fence, but he feels very happy with the investment. In order to ensure a perpetually clean and safe environment for the fish, he had a 1,300-plus underground pipeline built from the sea to the fence. This ensured the possibility of easily changing the water and keeping every being in the aquarium happy.

Passers-by can admire eels, sea bass, sea breams, mullets and even octopuses in the mesmerizing fence. Everybody is allowed to film and take pictures of the aquarium, but getting too close to it will set off an alarm. The owner has also installed a surveillance system of 17 top-notch cameras with face recognition capabilities to discourage pranks or acts of vandalism.
