The watch’s original black and blue bezel is still there, but the guys at BWD used their proprietary physical vapor deposition (PVD) method to give the timepiece a new military grade titanium finish. The founder of BWD says that his company has been a fan of dual-color bezels since the launch of the so called “Pepsi” GMT II, which sported a blue-red color combination.
Consequently, when the black and blue GMT II was announced by Rolex in Basel, the guys at BWD knew instantly that this would be a piece that would get some special attention from them. With a blued 24-hour hand, date wheel and “Bamford GMT-Master II” inscription on the dial, this piece is now available for purchase at £11,500 (approximately $17,500).
