$3 Million Lush Red Home Theater with 234-Inch Screen

Developed and built in a four-year long process, this stunning home theater is a $3 million masterpiece. When its owners decided to have a cinema in their home, they had no clear picture of what it would look like and how it would perform. However, a meeting with a home theater designer from Slayman Cinema solved the problem instantly. The designer showed them a piece of luxe red fabric and the owners new that their home cinema had to look like that.

They also knew that they wanted a huge theater, so the 25,000 square foot residence received an 8,000 square foot addition, exclusively destined for movies and gaming. The material that the family chose imposed a very specific style to the entire design, one that would exude sophistication, luxury and matching performance. Consequently, not only is the theater visually stunning, it also packs a remarkable number of advanced technologies meant to thrill.

Cantara Design chose the best audio-visual equipment, including 13 top-notch speakers, 5 subwoofers, and a huge 234-inch screen. The sound equipment was carefully integrated into the design without disrupting its elegance, while also ensuring flawless sound delivery. The sensation is mind-blowing. In order to achieve this high performance, the designers and engineers needed to work closely together at enhancing the room’s acoustics. Even the lush red fabric received a special treatment that consisted of a series of decorative-grille-covered holes for better sound propagation.

The family has two kids, so adding some gaming capabilities to this special room was an excellent idea (even a must, we’d say). Consequently, the front row seats are equipped with D-Box motion actuators that can be activated at the touch of a button. This transforms them into fun gaming seats that shake and rumble with the game.

The $3 million investment was indisputably huge, but apparently the owners are making excellent use of it. The guys at Cantara Design had to replace the high-end projector’s lamp in less than one year, and we are talking about a 2,000-hour lifespan here. Actually, judging by the photos below it really is no wonder that the family feels enticed to spend so many hours in this lavish and exciting room.

And to avoid those unwanted situations when the dwellers cannot be reached because they are too immersed in the on-screen action to hear the door bell, a special intercom was also added in the cinema. Whenever someone touches the entrance button, the movies is paused or muted,so that the host can answer the intercom and even see who is at the door. Quite perfectly designed, in virtually every respect, don’t you think?
