We were quite impressed with the Cross Coupe concept that Volkswagen unveiled this year at the Tokyo Motor Show, and we’re sure you were too. Actually, the car’s success was so big, that now we hear rumors of a possible production version.
The company’s executives believe that CUVs will gain more and more popularity among customers in the future, and they are giving serious thoughts to creating at least one production version of the alluring concept.
The car is apparently a preview of Volkswagen’s future crossover range, but we believe that this is only true with respect to the car’s looks. We don’t expect the hybrid powertrain (with two electric motors) to also find room on the production lines. At least not yet.
