It’s one thing to be a fan of the Star Trek franchise, but it’s another to invest millions of dollars in its name. The managing partner of Marc Bell Capital, Marc Bell, wanted to show off his admiration for Star Trek in style, and so he decided to create a large home theater inspired by Star Trek: The Next Generation.
As you probably suspect, the room was designed to resemble the famed USS Enterprise spaceship, which was featured in the Star Trek T.V. series from 1987 to 1994. The theater has enough space for 11 people, and it includes details such as a “starfield” made using hundreds of fiber optic lights. It also has custom-made chairs, a transporter, a control center and a memorabilia collection with actual original costumes, a pair of Spock’s prosthetic ears and various starship models. This collection alone is estimated at around $1 million.
The theatre is equipped with a hydraulics set that causes the floor to shake whenever something on the screen hits a bump, and it also incorporates a JBL Synthesis sound system.
