The HX1: Peugeot’s Flagship Luxury Crossover?

It seems that Peugeot can’t make a decision when it comes to choosing its flagship model. Despite all the rumors about the discontinued 607 sedan, followed by the smaller 407 sedan and the 508, Peugeot managed to amaze us with the brand new 508 RXH diesel hybrid, which everybody thought to be the 508 transformed into a crossover wagon. But, at the same time, the HX1 concept, a luxury crossover similar to the Mercedes-Benz R-Class, was unveiled at Frankfurt.

It is said that the HX1 is in fact Peugeot’s flagship model, which will be put into production. You will be amazed of what PSA Group’s Hybrid4 drivetrain can offer to this car.  The concept’s 2.2-liter motor, combined with the 75-kilowatt electric motor, can offer up to 300 horsepower. All this muscle requires extra caution with the coffee which, guess what, is made by the incorporated coffee machine. Quite cool, right? Don’t you think that this sleek and sensuous car deserves to be Peugeot’s flagship model?
