For those of us who couldn’t wait until the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz was generous enough to show some high-res pictures of the stunning 2013 G63 AMG and G65 AMG before the upcoming automotive event.
The first one is powered by a 5.5-liter AMG twin-turbo V8 direct-injected engine, capable of 544 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. Gear shifts are taken care of with ease by a seven-speed automatic transmission, and the start-stop system helps increase fuel savings. With a new facelift and many other new features, the next-gen G63 AMG is better looking, more powerful, and more fuel efficient than before.
The 2013 G65 AMG comes forth with even more impressive figures, power-wise. Apparently, the new beast can put out 612 horsepower and 737 pound-foot of torque from its twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 engine. While the G63 AMG will set buyers back some $180,000, the more impressive G65 AMG will be priced at roughly $347,000.
US fans of the super SUVs will have to wait until the beginning of August for the G63 AMG to make it on their side of the pond, but Mercedes-Benz kept quiet about the G65 AMG’s availability in the States.
