The 1954 Desoto Adventurer II Coupe Fetched $1.43 at Auction (12)

This baby right here is one of the best one-off concept cars ever created. It is the 1954 Desoto Adventurer II Coupe, with a gorgeous body designed by Ghia, and a Chrysler Imperial chassis. It was design by Exner and Savonuzzi with a very special sliding rear window that gives it a unique convertible character.

The vehicle is considered to be one of the top ten concept cars ever built, and it sold for an impressive $1,430,000, all fees included, at the 2012 Barrett-Jackson auction. One of its best features is the fact that the draft-free rear opening offers all the benefits of a convertible, without any inconvenients. It is unusually long for a two seater, but this feature only brings more style and elegance to its stance.
