First unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010, the alluring Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid is now ready for order, thanks to the encouraging positive feedback that it received after Geneva. Its 8-cylinder engine is capable of putting out 500 horsepower, while the two electric motors produce an additional 218 horsepower. The vehicle’s range is pretty low when only the electric motors are used: 16 miles, but that’s exactly why it’s got a third engine to boost things up.
This baby needs only 3.1 seconds to fly from 0 to 60 mph and flaunts a 78 mpg fuel consumption. The much awaited Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid will enter production in September 2013, but you can place your order now and we advise you to hurry up, as only 918 units will be made.
