It’s true that some tuning companies sometimes go a bit too far as far as visual modifications are concerned, and so their rides eventually end up looking rather distasteful. When it comes to tuning elegant cars such as the Audi S8, such an approach is simply unacceptable, and fortunately, the experts over at MTM seem to be well aware of this fact. Their take on the S8 was dubbed Talladega, and it is absolutely perfect.
It features that menacing yet elegant look that we’ve come to expect from an Audi S8, but its powertrain was improved so dramatically that we might as well be talking about a completely different vehicle. The standard S8 comes with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that’s good for 510 horsepower, while the Talladega flaunts no less than 750 ponies under its hood. All that power ensures a limited top speed of 202 mph as well as a 0-62 mph sprint in just 3.48 seconds. That’s supercar territory right there!
Apart from the engine, MTM also lowered the air suspension and equipped this car with carbon and ceramic brakes and with a new aerodynamic kit. The 21-inch Bimoto alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sports tires are also a nice touch. If you would like to own a MTM S8 Talladega, you should be prepared to churn out about $236,000, out of which $144,000 would be used to purchase a stock S8.
