Marvelous Anglo-Zulu War Chess Set

Designed with passion for passionate chess players, this remarkable Anglo-Zulu War Chess Set is a true work of miniature art. It was manufactured by Steve Timms, a chess enthusiast who also has a deep interest in military history, especially the Anglo Zulu War. Selling the limited edition set is LittleHand, a manufacturer of limited edition, artistic chess sets.

This particular set was inspired by a specific day in history: January 22, 1879. This was no ordinary Wednesday, because two battles of the Anglo Zulu war took place that day. Tim Simmons, the fine art specialist who handcrafted each piece in the set, described the manufacturing process “as a labour of love”, which definitely explains the perfect result.

After the talented model maker finished his part in the process, each piece was bronze cast by an English company, and then hand finished to perfection. Individually numbered, the pieces make up only 250 sets.
