Luminor 1950 Rattrapante 8 Days Watch by Officine Panerai

Officine Panerai, the famous Italian sports haute horlogerie brand, is the newest partner of the Atlantic Yacht Club in the Panerai Transat Classique 2012 regatta. The racing event will begin on December 2, 2012, with many classic yachts rushing across the Atlantic.

In order to mark this special event and new collaboration, the watchmaker created a special edition timepiece, called the Luminor 1950 Rattrapante 8 Days. With a 47-mm case, screwdown caseback, and bezel, all made of titanium, the watch is both great looking and very high-tech. It is powered by a manually wound Panerai caliber P.2006 movement and boasts an 8-day power reserve, with a linear indicator on the dial, at six the o’clock position.

The watch features a double or rattrapante chronograph, meaning that the mechanism features a vertical clutch and twin column wheels. There are two buttons that control the chronograph: one at 8 o’clock, featuring an embossed “C” from Chronograph, and another one at 10 o’clock, featuring the letter “R” from Rattrapante.
