After four years of research and development, Celsius X VI II finally completed the remarkable LeDIX Veloce watch cell phone. It is a stunning reinvention of the pocket watch concept, a creation that combines old and contemporary features in a unique 21st century luxury gadget.
The patented “Remontage Papillion” (butterfly winding) system was ingeniously conceived to add thee extra hours of power reserve every time the flap is opened. The Veloce features the world’s most off-centered tourbillion (36 mm), and the mechanism is made up of 600 tiny mechanical components.
To enhance its luxe character, Celsius used black PVD-treated titanium for the handset, and added some carbon-fiber inserts too. The high-end accessories that come with this stunning mobile phone are a hands-free set, a pocket-watch-style chain, a crocodile leather holster, and a docking station. The Veloce edition is limited to only 18 pieces, with each one requiring 30 professionals’ work over a six-month period. Its price is €250,000 ($320,000).
