One of Lakshmi Mittal’s numerous properties has recently been put back on the market. The world-famous steel magnate decided to sell his plush Palace Green property in Durham, England, for which he had paid $176.55 million. The reason behind his decision is not known, but people speculate that he is not exactly content with the current tax laws.
He had purchased the 12-bedroom mansion in 2008, but reports say that he never really got the chance to live there. Mittal and his family are currently residing somewhere in the ‘billionaires row’ in Kensington Gardens, London. The house that he is selling has 14,736 square feet of space and several special areas, including one dedicated for art displays, a dedicated ‘dressing wing’ for the self-made billionaire, and a huge master suite that occupies most of the ground floor.
Unfortunately for Mittal, the sale will not bring him any profit, because the current asking price is $166 million, which is $10 million less than what he had paid for it a couple of years ago. However, with an estimated worth of $23.5 billion, we think that he will somehow survive the loss.
