It’s true that Porsche’s new 718 Boxster model looks strikingly similar to the old Boxster, but make no mistake, as this brand new ride features impressive performance capabilities, not to mention its subtle yet important visual updates. As far as power goes, the new 718 Boxster flaunts a 2.0-liter engine that’s good for 296 horsepower, while the more powerful Boxster S is equipped with a 2.5-liter variant that offers 345 horsepower.
This means that Porsche’s entry level Boxster is now capable of performing a 0 to 62 mph sprint in just 4.7 seconds, which is 0.8 seconds faster when compared to the previous model. The S variant can do it in 4.2 seconds, by the way. If you’re looking for more numbers, the standard Boxster can reach a top speed of 170 mph, while the S tops out at 177 mph.
The chassis has also received some improvements, as did the new lights and bumpers. Inside, the driver enjoys access to upgraded tech, leather trimmings and comfortable seats.
