The Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (EMPA) worked for nearly a decade to develop this revolutionary technology which allows fine silk threads to be covered with a nanometer-thin layer of real gold.
EMPA is proud to announce that they’ve created the first luxury fabric covered with a thin layer of gold that will not come off in the weaving process or when it is washed. Production of the golden accessories is very limited and the price is quite restrictive: a full length tie costs $8,500. Only maximum 600 piece will be produced per year, so the fight for exclusivity starts right now!
