Exquisite Diamond-Studded Boots Cost $3.1 Million

A.F. Vandevorst and Diarough/UNI-Design are two Belgium-based companies that joined their expertise in order to create the world’s most expensive boots. These fancy US 8-sized boots are completely covered in diamonds arranged in a breathtaking paisley pattern, and they were unveiled in Hong Kong as part of the Business of Design Week – Asia’s most important annual design-related event.

The total number of gray, pink and champagne-colored diamonds that were used to adorn the boots is 39,083, but the creators also chose to line the footwear with 168 ounces of gold. As you can probably imagine, the process of decorating the boots was a time-consuming one, since it required more than 30,000 hours to be complete. For a touch of exclusivity, the boots feature the unique cross logo of A.F. Vandevorst, which was put together using very rare and beautiful pink diamonds.

The world’s most expensive boots were worn by Yi Zhou (a Chinese artist) on a catwalk that was set up on the balcony of Hong Kong’s famous Sevva restaurant. Over 400 very important people were present during this grand event, including Queen Mathilde of Belgium herself. The boots are currently on sale for the mind-boggling price of $3.1 million.
