Datamancer introduces the new Steampunk Laptop, a perfectly functional device inside a hand-crafted wooden case that makes it look like a Victorian music box. The HP ZT1000 laptop inside runs both on Ubuntu Linux and on Windows XP. A Mac version might also appear in the future.
Clockworks are visible under the glass-covered lid of the box, brass accents can be admired over the woodwork, leather wrist pads complete the vintage look and four claw feet ensure proper support. There’s a key-shaped USB flash drive that comes with the laptop and the rest is almost entirely customizable. You can choose your favorite colors, materials and styles. All this for approximately $7,500.
