It’s already well known that Bill Gates is changing the lives of the poor through his charitable actions. Since he decided to reduce his direct involvement in Microsoft, he became truly dedicated to philanthropy and today he is no longer known only as the richest man in the world and the co-founder of Microsoft, but also as the generous man who cares about the poor.
But Gates doesn’t only touch the life of the less privileged people in our world. He also travels around the globe to meet with and speak to wealthy people everywhere, in order to share his vision related to the idea of giving. Many of them respond in a very enthusiastic and positive manner, and this also shows in his Giving Pledge initiative.
The Giving Pledge doesn’t ask for money, and it does no receive donations. It is only a means of encouraging rich people to commit to giving. The commitment has only a moral value, and it’s made by a simple letter written by the givers. Fifty-nine rich individuals and families have signed the pledge so far, and the list is still open.
