Renault is looking to make an ever bigger name for itself in the world of automobile racing, but in order to do this, it needs a great car. Fortunately, by drawing inspiration from various Renault concept vehicles, the talented designers at Renault Sport Technologies came up with a stunning beast of a car named RS 01, which is set to compete in the upcoming Renault Sport Trophy championship of 2015.
Some of the most visually significant aspects of this ride include a set of LED daytime running lights placed in close proximity to the brake cooling scoops, a massive Renault logo at the front and a sleek, sporty and alluring aerodynamic body.
As far as looks are concerned, this thing can take breaths away, but can it claim the no.1 prize for the famed French automaker? Considering the fact that it flaunts a lightweight carbon monocoque chassis and that is powered by a Nismo 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, we think that it has a fair shot. The engine develops 442 lbs-ft of torque and 500 horsepower, all kept in check by a high-end Sadev 7-speed sequential gearbox. With a top speed of 186 mph, the RS 01 will be hard to keep up with, that’s for sure.
