Aulani Resort and Spa The First Disney Resort in Hawaii (25)

Disney’s first resort in Hawaii is finally open! Called the Aulani Resort and Spa, it took six years and $1 billion to complete. The opening ceremony started at sunrise and included an oli chant by Aulani Cultural Advisor, Kahulu De Santos. Attending the event were Tom Staggs, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Mickey, Minnie and many more.

The resort is located on the Oahu island at Ko Olina and it beautifully reflects the Hawaiian spirit and culture. There are 359 hotel rooms and 460 villa timeshare units for guests to enjoy, plus two lounges, four restaurants, a fitness center, two spas (one for teens, one for adults), a conference center, a conservation pool with sea creatures, a lazy river, water slides and a very large pool area with saltwater lagoon for snorkeling. Fun activities here are endless and Disney characters are virtually all over the place. T-shirts, shorts, lamps, subtle design elements … kids’ favorite characters are everywhere.

Depending on the season, the room type and the number of guests, you can stay at Aulani for different prices. The cheapest deal starts at $399 per night and it includes island-themed activities for the whole family. If you want a beautiful ocean view from your balcony, then you should be ready to shell out $549 per night. You can visit the resort’s website for reservations and further information.
