Abramovich and Allen’s Megayachts Passing by Each Other

Abramovich and Allen’s Megayachts Passing by Each Other

Every year, some of the world’s most successful men and women gather at a grand cultural event in France, known as the Cannes Film Festival. Two of this year’s guests at the event were Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and Russian mogul Roman Abramovich. Both owners of some spectacular private yachts, the two billionaires have had the “pleasure” of passing by each other on water: Allen in his huge “Octopus” and Abramovich in his impressive “Luna”.

Paul Allen’s Octopus used to be the largest privately owned yacht, measuring 414 feet in length. Now this special title belongs to the amazing Eclipse megayacht that Abramovich purchased last year. However, on this particular occasion it was Allen who dominated the “battle field” with his yacht, as Abramovich chose to sail on the smaller, 377-foot Luna (the largest expedition yacht in the world). Well, we can’t say for sure whether or not the two billionaires were on the vessels at the time of their encounter, but if they were, it probably  wasn’t easy for them to se the “competition” passing by.
