World’s Priciest Rough Diamond Costs $63 Million

The most expensive rough diamond in the world was dubbed The Constellation, and it was recently acquired by De Grisogno for the mind-boggling price of $63 million. The stone weighs in at 813 carats, and it measures 6cms, which definitely has something to do with its astounding worth. The purchase was intermediated by Sotheby’s, and the diamond itself was obtained from Botswana’s Karowe Mine by a Canadian company named Lucara Diamond.

Apparently, De Grisogno founder Fawaz Grousi likes to treat the diamond like a queen, but he’s also in a love-hate relationship with it. Its amazing beauty obviously stirs up feelings of love, but its extravagance can become somewhat puzzling, as it’s not exactly easy to find a perfect setting for a $63 million stone. We’re sure that a solution will present itself soon enough, though.
