World’s First Luxe Electric Yacht Is Called Supiore Uno

The first luxury electric yacht in the world was unveiled on June 28, 2013 at Amsterdam’s Harbour Club, and it was created by Cor and Lodewyck Beghuys. Being the first of its kind, this fabulous vessel enjoyed considerable attention during the Cannes Boat Show, where it was applauded and admired by a huge number of yachting and luxury enthusiasts.

Since it is after all powered by electricity alone, it makes sense that the vessel would be somewhat small, which is why it comes as no surprise that it measures just 17 feet. Still, it offers a highly luxurious, comfortable and eco-friendly way of cruising along the waves due to its fabulous seating arrangements and highly efficient motor. The yacht’s walkable foredeck is powered by solar cells that are able to deliver as much as 400 watts. The yacht also features a wall plug that increases its recharging capabilities to about 20% per hour, while solar power alone will only charge 5% of its power in the same timeframe. Nonetheless, with a range of 6 hours at cruise speed, this thing definitely ensures a lot of fun, not to mention the fact that it boasts a top speed of 10 knots.

Actually, the top speed was software-limited to 10 knots so that the yacht would not require any sort of license. When it comes to comfort and seating arrangements, the Supiore Uno is able to seat 7 people and features a wide array of amenities such as a chilled wine storage, a barbecue and cooler as well as high-end speakers. Moreover, since it was made using foamed double walls, the yacht is practically unsinkable, which is a very big safety-bonus.
