Unique Chance to Get Michelangelo’s Original Rare Sketch

If you are an art lover, then you should know that on July 5 in London, at Christie’s auction house, you will have the unique chance to acquire an original rare drawing by the famous Renaissance artist Michelangelo Buonarotti. The drawing, representing a male nude, is one of the 24 sheets of The Battle of Cascina masterpiece, unfortunately uncompleted. The sketch is estimated for £3-5 million ($5-8 million).

By the time Michelangelo began the work for The Battle of Cascina at Sala del Gran Consiglio in 1504 to commemorate Florentine civic virtue, he also had to begin the painting representing the Battle of Anghiari of 1440 on another wall. He did not manage to finish either and only engravings and sketches remained as a reminding of what could have been one of the greatest Western masterpieces.
