Add some metal spikes on it and the Trophy Rat hot rod pickup that you’re admiring right now will look like it just came out of a Mad Max movie. However, even without the spikes, this thing looks downright tough and menacing, and that’s exactly what the good people over at Northrup Fab wanted to achieve.
Powered by a 5.7L GM LS6 aluminum-block V-8 engine that’s good for 300 horsepower thanks to some tweaking, the Trophy Rat required more than two and a half years in order to be complete, and that’s because it features a brand new metal frame as well as an A-Arm independent front suspension complemented by custom-valved 2.5 King coilovers. Other highlights include chunky Nitto Trail Grappler tires and 17×9 TrailReady HD beadlocks. Obviously, there are not many roads out there that can prove challenging for this beastly four-wheeler, whether we’re talking about mountain trails, gravel or desert dunes.
