Too robo-like to be real? Well, Volkswagen doesn’t seem to think so, because they are going to send this baby into production soon. It is known as Volkswagen XL1 and it’s powered by both electric and diesel engines.
When the battery runs out of power, you can start the two small diesel units that boast a mileage of 260 mpg, which means it will be the most efficient vehicle in the future. Only 100 examples of the futuristic Volkswagen XL1hybrid will be made at first, and they will sell in Germany. If everything goes well, the XL1 might also make it to the States.
