The World’s First Diamond Ring by Shawish

Shawish is the Swiss jewelry house that decided to do something that no one else has ever done before: a ring made entirely from one chunk of rough diamond. Weighing 150-carats, the amazing jewel will be unveiled via an in-depth animation at Il Bottaccio in London. The exclusive event will take place on April 14 and it will show the fascinating evolution of the First Diamond Ring from sketch to final design.

Creating a whole ring from a single piece of diamond is a truly challenging task. As Mohamed Shawesh, the CEO of Shawish Jewelry sais, diamonds have a very special molecular structure which can be easily altered when cut. This can even lead to color modifications, and we all know how important it is for a diamond to be pure and flawless. In order to complete this bold project, the company spent a lot of money on a special laser equipment that ensures the integrity of the gem after it’s cut.

That being said, it should be no surprise to learn that the ring is expected to sell for £43 million, or some $70.46 million. Further details and images will be released on April 14.
