The buyer is anonymous and he or she placed the winning bid over the phone. The bright pink crocodile bag was made in 2014 and features a diamond-studded 18-karat white gold clasp and lock. The previous record was held by another Hermes product, namely a Birkin that brought in $203,150 in 2011.
