Diehard fans of everything automotive had the privilege of admiring the new Mercedes-Benz CLA for the first time ever at the much anticipated NAIAS in Detroit. The car is a beautiful production version of the Style Concept Coupe 2012. It boasts a lot of new and outstanding features, one of which is the excellent aerodynamics coefficient of 0.23. This is a new record in mass production automobiles.
On the inside, the classy ride flaunts high gloss aluminum accents, a center console with 5.8-inch screen multimedia system from Mercedes, and an impressive list of optional features, including large panoramic sunroof, AMG styling package, Harman / Kardon audio devices, and COMMAND infotainment system with GPS navigation.
Customers will have the possibility to choose from a variety of engine configurations, with the most powerful (the CLA 45 AMG) offering 350 hp and 450 Nm of torque. For extra safety, the German automaker introduced advanced systems meant to help all drivers roll without any incidents. These include a radar-based technology that informs the driver about any possibility of collision and assists the brake to avoid accidents; a special driver drowsiness detector; and Lane Departure Warning, which works by detecting cars coming from behind while they’re in a blind spot.
Mercedes will reportedly announce its pricing for the new CLA on February 3, during the Superbowl.
