Most people associate bikers with leather vests and Harley Davidson motorcycles, and it’s not exactly hard to understand why. However, a Swiss watchmaker named Azimuth wants to give bikers something unique to wear on their wrists as well, something that would represent their love for motorcycles and the open road. That’s how the Azimuth SP-1 Crazy Rider Watch came to be, a micro engineering masterpiece that flaunts a distinctive bike theme as well as outstanding performance.
The timepiece mimics the shape of a motorcycle’s engine, and it includes an asymmetrical infinity loop-shaped case. Its bezel and exposed screws immediately catch the eye, as does the chain detail placed right at the center of the dial. This unique system resembles a sprocket brake drive system, and it was implemented in order to control the hour and minute displays. The inner part of the dial boasts 24-hour markers in red and yellow, while the right side of the case incorporates a gauge dial that indicates the minutes.
At the back of the case, the piece showcases an ETA movement that was modified by the company specifically for the SP-1 Crazy Rider in order to resemble an engine block.
