The Awesome SRT Viper GT3-R Unveiled

The new Viper GT3-R was recently unveiled by SRT. It was developed in collaboration with Riley Technologies and it boasts a lot of alluring features both inside and out. The heart of the vehicle is a 8.4-liter V10 engine capable of 680 bhp and 640 lb-ft of torque.

A beasty core like that can only go well with a very lightweight body and faultless aerodynamics. Consequently, the car’s makers chose fiberglass/Kevlar/carbon fiber as body materials and added a series of key elements such as an adjustable rear wing, a rear diffuser, fender louvers, a front splitter and front dive planes.

The result is a 2,855 pound ride whose Xtrac six-speed sequential transmission with a multi-disc race clutch plays a key role in reaching adrenaline-pumping speeds. Other important features include the four-way adjustable dampers, race-spec suspensions, crew-adjustable anti-roll barson-board fire suppression system, FIA-spec roll cage and racing seat with a six-point harness.

The starting price is around $459,000, and while you can already place your order now, you will have to wait until later this year for deliveries to begin. The all new SRT will be ready to race in competitions like United SportsCar Racing GT Daytona, SCCA/NASA, NARRA, FIA GT3, and Pirelli World Challenge GT.
