In moments like this you can only be sad that you don’t live in the big, sophisticated China. Citroën plans on conquering the upscale automobile market in Asia and we believe it has a very good chance of reaching its goal.
You have probably seen the 17.5 feel long and 6.5 feet wide Metropolis concept that Citroën displayed at the Shanghai Expo this year. Back then we didn’t know when it would hit production, if ever. But today we can tell you for sure that this dream will soon become reality…for the Chinese only.
The production version, most probably carrying the DS9 nameplate, may get a modified platform borrowed from the C6. As far as the powertrain is concerned, we can only tell you what the concept version had. It was a compact V6 engine aided by an electric motor, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. We can’t wait to find out what the production limousine will bear under the hood.
We don’t have other details on the subject just now, but we’ll be thrilled to share any other news that will emerge in the future.
