Nowadays, speakers come in various shapes and sizes, and while some of them are inspired by nature or by famous characters, others feature a more toned-down yet highly original look. The Concretus wireless speaker was designed by a second year product design student at Lithuania’s Vilnius Academy of Arts named Gražina Bočkutė, who drew inspiration from a series of tetrapods placed on a pier.
The student’s Bluetooth wireless speaker includes the same stark lines and rough texture of the tetrapods, and these neutral grey elements contrast beautifully with its metal parts. The product can be controlled using a dial placed on its side, or remotely via a smartphone. It would definitely look at home in a minimalistic living room or in an industrial loft, wouldn’t you agree?
