Tesla Took the Wraps off the Model S Sedan

Tesla Took the Wraps off the Model S Sedan (1)

After having unveiled its pricing strategy  for the much anticipated Model S sedan, Tesla finally introduced its future customers to the beta version of the amazing electric car. Being a beta version, the car still needs to undergo several tests and fine tunings, but we don’t expect the production version to be too different from the red beauty in these pictures.

Proud of the project, Elon Musk, the founder and current CEO of the company, encouraged customers to talk up the amazing car and show the world how electric cars are no longer fairy-tale “unicorns”, but real, palpable, awesome machines of our time. Musk also announced that Tesla Motors will introduce a faster Model S, which will boast a 0-60 mph time of just 4.5 seconds (one second less than the current model). He didn’t fail to mention that the sedan will actually be faster than a 911.

For those who hesitate at the thought of having to recharge the battery, Tesla announced the QuickCharge system, which helps reduce the normal charging time of 5-12 hours to merely 45 minutes. An even more appealing alternative is that of buying an extra battery and simply swapping the empty one with the fully charged one in just 5 minutes.
