Saudi Binladin Group was chosen by Prince Alwaleed bin Talal to build the tallest tower in the world, called the Kingdom Tower. It will be the centerpiece of the Kingdom City development in Jeddah and it will stand some 175 meters (568 feet) taller than Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai, the current tallest building in the world.
Costing a staggering 4.6 billion riyals ($1.2 billion) to build, the tower will measure 1,000 meters (one kilometer or some 3,280 feet) in height. The designers of this incredibly bold project are from Adrian Smith & Gordon Gill Architecture.
