Those of who you are familiar with Sony’s compact cameras will probably notice quite a few similarities between the Hasselblad Stellar II and the Sony RX100 II model, and rightfully so. However, even though the Swiss-made Hasselblad Stellar II is based on Sony’s design, it comes with a series of impressive aesthetic improvements that add quite a few extra bucks to its overall worth.
To be specific, the Sony RX100 II currently retails for $650, while the Hasselblad Stellar II sells for no less than $2,395. The price is justified by the expensive materials used for the camera’s grip. The four available grip finishes include padouk, olive wood, walnut and carbon fiber. As far as tech is concerned, the Stellar II comes with a 20.2 megapixel sensor complemented by 3.6 x optical zoom capabilities.
There’s also the integrated Wi-Fi, the NFC tech, the 3.0″ high-resolution screen and the anti-glare coating that guarantees image sharpness even when the sun is in your eyes. For improved versatility, the camera flaunts a special hot-shoe that can be used to hold microphones or attachable flashes.
