Designed by Andrade Morettin Arquitetos Associados and finished in 2008, Residencia A.B. is a spacious and luxurious residence that can be found in São Paulo, Brazil. Since it was built amidst the greenery of a 16,145 square foot park, this home boasts a deep link with its surrounding natural environment, especially at its ground level.
This floor includes the main social spaces such as the living room, dining area and kitchen, and they are all connected to the outdoor terrace via a series of sliding glass doors that leave a 46-foot opening behind when they are moved out of the way. The upper portion of the abode was created using a plethora of glass elements, which is why it flaunts utmost transparency. Here is where we find the private living arrangements such as the bedrooms.
The upper volume appears to be supported entirely by a central concrete pillar that also happens to encase the stairway. In order to ensure that sunlight is filtered appropriately upstairs, the architects adorned the glass with a special silkscreen.
