Noblesse Oblige is Scott Campbell’s exhibition that opened the new OHWOW gallery in Los Angeles, on 19 March. Copper, ink, graphite, neon and even currency is what he chose to use for his creations. His works combine the morbid tattoo iconography with delicate elements like ostrich eggshells or fine sheets of dollars, taken directly from the United States Mint.
The scull and its box, which you can admire in the pictures, feature $11,000 worth of currency sheets, but after Campbell put them together in this unique form, the value of the piece grew to $50,000. How do you feel about spending so much money on a two-foot cube holding a 3D scull made of money?
