Ryan Seacrest Braves Torrid NYC Rain to Host Dick Clarks New Years Rockin Eve

One can easily conclude the Ryan Seacrest is used to the unpredictable New York weather. Seacrest was the host of the “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” in Times Square. Last year’s temperature plummeted to 9 degrees but it was milder on Monday night. “I prefer the rain versus last year’s cold,” he said, even when he was completely drenched.

Seacrest together with his co-host Jenny McCarthy braved the rainy Manhattan’s weather to host the show that aired live on ABC on New Year’s Eve. The Emmy award-winning producer took to Instagram and said, ‘100% chance of rain, 0% chance of slowing us down.’

Thousands of New Yorkers also braved the unkind weather in hats and plastic ponchos. Seacrest, on the other hand, was completely drenched while on stage and continued to urge the crowd to embrace the rain. Underneath his black Parka, Ryan Seacrest wore a clean crisp white shirt which is from his own fashion line. This was matched by black skinny jeans and combat boots.

Seacrest ensured that his flashy Hollywood grin was always on when posing for selfies with the fans even as the rain continued to pour down. Other celebrity headliners in the event included Donnie Wahlberg, Dan + Shay, Christina Aguilera, and Bastille.

Seacrest has just returned from spending time with his on and off girlfriend and personal chef Shayna Terese Taylor in Nashville. The two met through a mutual friend in 2013, split a year later, and then rekindled their love in 2017.

‘Family is so important to me, and to Shayna as well, but I’ve always tried to put life into a master schedule with deadlines, and I don’t want to do that [with Shayna]. We both try to actually be in this moment, feel this connection, enjoy it and let it grow.’

In February of 2018, Seacrest was cleared of any wrongdoing after a 3-months investigation which reported there was no evidence to support the case.

Seacrest knew it was going to be a long night and 3 hours before the countdown, he backed into a heater and you could clearly see smoke coming out of the puffer jacket. Anderson Cooper was also at work on the same auspicious occasion, and together with co-host Andy Cohen stood uncovered for more than four hours. “I’ve been doing this for 15 years now, and there’s no place I’d rather be,” Mr. Cooper said.

But, isn’t this whole experience just miserable? “Hurricanes are miserable,” said Mr. Cooper. “I’ve done 13 hours in the rain, so four and a half hours is not so bad.”

There were about 4000 New Yorkers who attended the “Adriana Lecouvreur” Opera premiere. About 350 of them had to part with $7500 each to get to enjoy a sumptuous meal of duck confit and Lobster Salad which was to be followed by fireworks at midnight.

Seacrest claim to fame came in hosting the popular show American Idol. He is an accomplished radio personality, TV host and producer. Seacrest has been the host and executive producer of the “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” since 2006. He has remained the host and producer even after Clark’s death in 2012.

The New Year’s event is also synonymous with fashion. Seacrest has been working with Christopher Bailey to design for red carpet events. Seacrest developed his own fashion collection which has been active since 2014. The line includes accessories like jewelry, ties, shirts, belts, pocket squares, and cufflinks. Judging by this year’s event, one can easily conclude that Ryan Seacrest did have a good time hosting despite the cold and the rain.
