Inspired by Titanic, this watch shows power and endurance. Every single detail about it is meant to evoke the immense ship that now lays about 12,500 feet under water. Created by Romaine Jerome, the timepiece is a new addition to the luxury Titanic DNA line. It is called the Romaine Jerome Titanic DNA Tourbillon Steampunk.
First of all, the steel used in creating the Steampunk was supplied by Harland & Wolf shipyards, the same place where the Titanic was built. Even more than that, the bezel is crafted from authentic steel taken from the wreck.
The hands of the watch are designed to resemble anchors, while on the 50 mm case the bezel is secured by four claws that continue on the dial in the form of four screws looking like steam engine pistons. As a final touch, Romaine Jerome added a small propeller on the dial and two huge hour markers (XII and VI) with a scratched-up finish.
Only 2,012 pieces will be made and they will each cost 12,500 Swiss Francs (about $13,000).
