Well, it looks like the trend of purchasing luxurious Napa Valley properties by Bordeaux Chateaus is not about to end anytime soon, as two members of a renowned French winemaking family have just bought Robin Williams’ estate in Napa Valley for $18.1 million. The purchase of “Villa Sorriso” was announced by Pacific Union International, Inc., whose experts worked closely with Alfred and Melanie Tesseron in order to complete the process.
The property boasts a 22,000-square foot residence as well as stables, a swimming pool, a tennis court and various outbuildings. More importantly, Villa Sorriso is a 640-acre vineyard estate located within Mout Veeder, so as you can probably imagine, it was incredibly appealing for the Bordeaux-based winemakers. Actually, the Tesserons have announced their plans to make elite Bordeaux-styled wine in Napa that would match the quality of their Pontet Canet wines. The vineyards of Villa Sorriso include Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for the most part, but it also has some Cabaret Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot plantings.
