Power and speed addicts whose conscience constantly screams “gas guzzler” in their ears can now enjoy adrenaline rushes with a clean conscience: Rimac is now ready to accept reservations for their outstanding electric supercar boasting 1,088 horsepower!

The Croatian automaker has announced that it will start deliveries for their Concept One in 2013, and that interested customers can already place their pre-orders for the amazing car. Not only super-good looking, the vehicle is also mightily impressive performance-wise.

When the beautiful Rimac Concept One made its first appearance last year, it was accompanied by some out-of-this-world claims about its power, and people couldn’t believe what they heard. It was said that the super stunner could put out a whopping 2,800 pound-feet of torque and 1,088 horsepower. The 0-62 mph time was expected to be just 2.8 seconds, with an impressive range of 372 miles.

Since then, however, the company has made some changes in their description of the car. As it comes closer and closer to production, the zero-emissions vehicle is humbling down to more realistic figures. The torque was reduced to 1,180 lb-ft, and we can probably also expect a lower range and maximum speed. That still can’t reduce the Concept One to the status of a regular electric car. This is a supercar that’s fully worthy of its name, and we can’t wait to see it in action!
