Futuristic homes are not everyone’s cup of tea, but they’re definitely charming and unique in their own way, especially if they are built at outstanding locations. House on the Cliff is a Spanish masterpiece that was designed and built by a Madrid-based company named GilBartolomé Architects. The residence benefits from staggering views of the sea because it was built on the edge of an incline, and the fact that it features two stories definitely helps as well.
Its unique design includes a wavy tin roof that resembles the shape of the surrounding terrain, thus allowing the project to blend with the natural environment. The tin roof was actually inspired by the work of an architect named Antoni Gaudi, which is why the residence has been referred to as a “Gaudisque contemporary cave.” Since it is practically built within the cliff itself, most of the structure is actually underground, and the cool ground temperature reduces the need for artificial cooling systems.
