McLaren is working on a new “beast”, called the Mega Mac. It will be built with a carbon fiber monocoque and will sport a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8, coupled to the same Graziano 7-speed “pre-cog” dual-clutch transmission found in the MP4-12C. The powerful engine will put out at least 799 horsepower and will help the ride reach the 60 mph threshold in just 2.8 seconds. The maximum speed will be over 200 mph.
Expect to see the car in dealerships sometime in 2014 with a pretty prohibitive price tag of at least $600,000. Only 500 examples of the Mega Mac will be made, so you should be ready to move fast and buy one when it first appears.
