German designer Pieter Brenner imagined a candy that can fascinate both adults and children: the brightly colored Sugar Chair. Manufactured by sugar specialists, this living-room-lollipop required 60 pounds of sugar to create.
What Brenner wanted to offer was the possibility for the buyer to intervene on his creation by savoring it and thus modifying its shape. While the chair is functional (it can be used for sitting just like any other chair) we’re not sure anyone would feel comfortable licking or nibbling it, especially after others have used it for sitting.
But for those who find the idea fascinating and would love to own this lively piece of furniture, Pieter Brenner has got a price to announce: $11,000! The Sugar Chair will be on display at the KISDshop in Cologne until June 5.
