Peugeot to Unveil the 308 R Concept at Frankfurt

Peugeot will unveil its new 308 hatchback at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Along with it, the French automaker will also bring a cool hot hatch based on the refreshed model. Called 308 R Concept, it is a two-toned devil with a 1.6-liter turbo four engine for a heart.

Rolling on 19-inch wheels, the concept boasts a fresh aero kit, new brakes, dropped suspensions, and a matte black-glossy red paintjob. The tailgate and the roof are the only bodywork elements that have remained unchanged.

With help from a six-speed manual transmission andTorsen limited-slip differential, the compact ride will reach high speeds, but Peugeot is not giving any exact numbers. Its front wheels will be spun by 270 hp and 243 pound-feet of torque, which experts say that could result in an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, and a 0-60 time of approximately 6 seconds.
