The new BMW M5 will be a wonderful car, but Edo Competition decided to pay one last homage to the current model with the Dark Edition modification package. With an ECU remap, new cats, new exhaust and new air filters, the power has gone up to 550 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque, from 500 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. With these new figures, the super sedan boasts an improved 0-62 mph time too: 4.2 seconds (which is about half a second less than the original model). The new maximum speed is 190 mph, up from the stock 155 mph.
Edo Competition did a little more than some engine modifications: they also created a complete aero kit, revised the interior and added new 20-inch alloys with Dunlop rubber. So if you’re not quite ready yet to say goodbye to your beloved M5, don’t! Just give your ride a new look and better specs, and enjoy your four-wheeled friend for as long as you can.
