Norwegian Breakaway: New York City’s Largest Ever Cruise Ship

Norwegian Breakaway New York City’s Largest Ever Cruise Ship (1)

When the Norwegian Breakaway will enter service in April 2013, she will be the largest ship ever to home port in New York City. Built by Norwegian Cruise Line, the 4,000-passenger vessel is scheduled to make 88 cruises in less than two years, starting with a series of 7-day cruises from New York to Bermuda. In its first two years, the Breakaway is expected to bring a total of 140,000 visitors to the Big Apple. These high-end tourists will spend approximately $35 million in all.

Weighing over 144,000 tons, the vessel will flaunt boutique hotel-like rooms and even a luxury private area called “The Heaven”, with white-tablecloth in-room dining, 24-hour private butler service and a poolside valet.
